Engineer

Weapons: 1.) Spanner - more than just a last resort crowbar clone, if you hit a sentrygun or an ammo & armor dispenser, you can repair it, stock it, upgrade it, etc. If you hit a friend with it, you repair their armor. 2.) Railgun - an automatic energy pistol, desn't fire as fast as the nailgun, but hits are quite painful. 3.) SuperShotgun - the double-barreled big brother of the shotgun

Grenades: 1.) Hand-grenade - standard frag. grenade EMP grenade - this is by far the coolest grenade in the TFC arsenal. The grenade explodes and sends out a pulse that detonates any explosive in the area of affect. Nasty on demomen and anyone carrying a high amount of explosives.

Speed: Average Health: Normal Armor: Average Abilities - build sentryguns. These motion-tracking gatling guns mow down any enemy within its range. Upgradeable to level 3, which can launch rockets every three seconds. Can't detect spies that are disguised as its team's color, though, so keep careful watch for suspicious activity. - build ammo & armor dispenser. These are portable vending machines that give the user ammo or armor, their choice. The dispensers make their own armor and ammo over time, but if you want to add your own, hit it with your spanner and make the selection. - repair teammates armor by hitting them with spanner - able to regenerate ammunition over time(never seen this in action, though).

Comments: The engineer is the best defender of the base. Able to build sentryguns which will mow down enemies on sight, he is a valuable asset in base protection. Also able to build ammo & armor dispensers, which are needed where a resupply room is not easily reached. To build a sentrygun or an ammo & armor dispenser, open up your build menu by pressing the special ability key, select what you want to build, and find a good place to build it, because you can only build one of each. Build sentryguns in spaces where enemies will have a hard time running past it without getting a scratch, namely wide open spaces where enemies frequent. Keep in mind that it takes a second for the sentrygun to lock onto an enemy, so if you place it in small areas, scouts might run past it before it could get its sights on him. Don't place it in areas where enemies can easily destroy it, such a around corners, where demomen could bounce a few grenades off the wall to destroy it. Place ammo & armor dispensers in places where a resupply room might not be easily reached, such as flagrooms and command points. Remember to check your sentryguns and ammo & armor dispenser's statuses at the lower left of the screen. If their health or ammo or armor is low, bring out your spanner for some maintenance. Remember that upgrading and repairing takes metal. Collect metal for your spanner by getting extra armor. Use EMP grenades in roomfuls of enemies, because most likely the enemies will have some type of explosive on them. A nasty trick you can do with the ammo & armor dispensers is place them in narrow corriders where enemies will run into it. When an enemy runs into your dispenser, a message will appear, saying that enemies are using the dispenser. Remotely detonate your dispenser to send the enemy flying!
